Viking Armoured Warrior 7

The penultimate member of my band of armoured warriors suffered from a little too much varnish on his helmet and axe haft, resulting in a slightly milky finish.

That aside, and despite not being the most inspiring miniature, the finished piece is coherent.

Just one more to go!

Brian Nelson's 90s Orc Big 'Uns

Found on FB this morning, a post from what must be a GW catalogue.

Brian’s seminal sculpts of this time shifted the paradigm from Kev Adams green skins to something more violent rather than comical.

If memory serves, it was around ‘96-‘97. This picture has the command group in clear sight upon my desk.

Viking Armoured Warrior 6

The sixth and most heavily armoured of the unit is also the first bearing a shield.

Not being keen on the ridiculously chunky-thick metal shields supplied with Foundry’s Vikings, I’ve decided to equip my warband with plastic shields from Victrix; if they ever have them in stock again.

In the meantime, I’ve used a resin shield from a sprue of unknown origin found in my bits box.
