Upon its release, Warhammer Quest Cursed City was of immediate appeal, being a self-contained box game packed with an awesome number of wonderful miniatures.
“What a fantastic project…,” I thought.
A couple of years later, having sourced a copy of Cursed City via Ebay and missed out on the first expansion pack, I’ve got around to a test piece before diving into the set-proper (luckily I managed to get hold of some more Ulfenwatch via Ebay, too).
An excellent miniature (the empty spaces and pose really elevate the undead feel) that was fun to paint, if somewhat of a challange for my aged eyes… Painting contemporary GW plastic miniatures involves re-calibrating ones approach to painting to an extent, and only now am I starting to understand how and why.
Looking forward to completing some more miniatures and eventually playing the games itself!
Rather than the basing shown here, the set-proper will use the lovely ‘battle ready’ temple bases from Gamers Grass.
