Finally got around to trying my hand on a contemporary GW plastic miniature and although it was fun to paint it was more challenging than expected.

Marines are all about smooth, clean blends and sharp edge highlights, so my deficiency in both shows… I also kept too close to the base colour (Macragge Blue) resulting in a darker tone than is usual for Ultramarines.

A lot learnt and will be practising on a few more before trying something a little more special.
