After a 6 week painting holiday it’s time to press ahead with the warband.
The penultimate viking archer is okay; not a bad miniature and the paint job will suffice.
Looking forward to painting some warriors for a change…

Some old gems received from Josh over at Section 9 Studios — these photographs illuminate some members of the Games Workshop Design Studio ‘Eavy Metal team, circa 1996, housed within the old studio on Castle Boulevard, Nottingham.
Happily, all are still well and pursuing their pursuits.
Zooming in on my desk reveals the year as the (at the time) yet to be released orc bigun command sculpted by Brian Nelson are clearly visible.
Note: The block of heroin on Richard’s desk is actually a brown tape paint pallet loving layered over years of servitude.
Another blast from the past — a SWAT team (sculpted by Shane Hoyle I believe) from Foundry I painted in around 2001 and featured in the Foundry Painting & Modelling Guide.
Another disappointing result made worse by the thrice cursed misty/ furry varnish — I’ll put it down to the sudden increase in heat and humidity here in Tokyo.
A break of a day or two from painting will hopefully freshen me up for the remaining two archers.
A simple if somewhat uninspiring miniature, the ninth archer in my warband is complete.
As mentioned previously, this second batch of archers are less well sculpted overall but one of the most annoying aspects are the strangely misshapen bows.
